"ROCKET" FRED CURRY, JR.

The "Rocket" was born on May 19th, 1977 in Hartford, CT.  This third generation star is one of the most popular wrestlers in NECW.  He was preceded in the business by his father, "Flying" Fred Curry, and his late grandfather, Wild Bull Curry.

Fred is a graduate of Ohio State with a degree in history.  He lettered four years on the lacrosse team.  Like most fans, he loved the Randy Savage-Ricky Steamboat match from Wrestlemania 3.  He was trained by his father and Dory Funk, Jr.

Curry debuted in August of 1999 teaming with his father to defeat the TNTs in Columbus, OH at Newport Music Hall.  He lists winning the WWCW tag belts with Sabu in Columbus, Ohio in Nov. '99 as the highlight of his career thus far.

He wishes the wrestlers and fans would be more aware of the history of the business,  "None of us would be here if it wasn't for the stars from the 50's, 60's, and 70's."

Thoughts on NECW:  "NECW has some of the best management and wrestlers throughout the entire country as far as independent promotions go and is headed nowhere but up."
