Sumie Sakai Height: 154 cm When Sumie Sakai watched a match of Kyoko Inoue, she knew that she just had to become a professional wrestler. Sumie, one of the quickest women in the business today, has a background in Judo for 15 years and trained in the JD promotion for 6 years. Her very first match was in Toyko, Japan at the Korakuen Hall against Megumi Yabushita, and she refers to it was the worst match ever. The Lioness Asuka has been Sumie’s toughest opponent thus far and the highlight of her career is winning the women’s title in NECW in 2002. Sumie is a big soccer fan. In her spare time, she enjoys watching wrestling videos with friends. Her favorite kind of music is “Morning Musume” which is very popular in Japan, and her favorite movie is Ghost. Sumie came to the U.S. because she wanted to revolutionize women’s wrestling here.
