Maverick Wild Maverick was born on September 4th, 1970 in Utica, NY. Wild is recognized as one of the most talented wrestlers in NECW. He is the current NECW Heavyweight Champion, having won the title for the second time on December 20, 2002. He was trained by Brian Walsh in 1989 in Braintree, Mass. He debuted at Buttonwood Park in New Bedford, Mass. against Brian "Scorpio" Shiloh. Maverick got hooked on the business while watching wrestlers like Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan, Sgt. Slaughter, and Peter Maivia. His highlight of his career thus far is a 2 out of 3 fall trash can match with Bulldog Rip Morrison, which took place for Ringside Wrestling in Derry, NH. "I've heard guys talk about fans being so loud, you couldn't hear yourself think. That was the first time I ever experienced it for myself. The rush was incredible." Maverick has a great idea for those "untrained professionals", "I would round up all the untrained, unqualified guys doing this on the indy level, bus them out to the desert and leave them there. There are WAY too many guys out there who don't deserve the honor that description should come with. Guys who are out of shape with little or no training, who wear jeans and T-shirts instead of traditional trunks or singlets or other gear either out of fear of showing their flabby, chalk white horsecrap looking bodies or are too cheap to invest in real gear. Guys like that make true indy level pros look bad by association."
